Namebench: Nameserver Performance Benchmark

Ein Tool, das mir bereits vor ca. 2 Jahren schon einmal unter die Finger gekommen ist. Mit Namebench lässt sich sehr einfach ein Benchmark auf verschiedene Nameserver ausführen. Sinn des Programms ist die optimale DNS-Konfiguration des lokalen Systems (oder des Servers), was sich natürlich positiv auf das Browsing Geschwindigkeit auswirkt.

Das Resultat des Benchmarks wird grafisch sehr ausführlich angezeigt. Zudem wird einem direkt eine optimale DNS-Konfiguration vorgeschlagen.

namebench runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and UNIX, and is available with a graphical user interface as well as a command-line interface.
